It began with one stubborn question
Why should lighting attached to your home ever stop feeling like yours?
We wanted the finish of a premium product without giving up the freedom of an open one. No false choice between “easy to use” and “built to last.” No technical scavenger hunt just to make the house feel welcoming on an ordinary Tuesday.
01
The spark
We loved the lights. We wanted to own the experience.
Permanent lighting becomes part of a house. It should feel dependable, personal, and built to last—not like a gadget waiting on somebody else’s server. That belief turned a weekend hardware question into Ember.02
The build
We worked from the controller all the way up to the moment of delight.
Firmware, local protocols, onboarding, mobile apps, schedules, previews, and the tiny details that make setup feel safe: we built the whole path because a welcoming experience depends on every layer behaving well.03
The difference
Then the house stopped being a line of pixels.
Once Ember understood the architecture, scenes could finally look intentional. Peaks could carry an accent. Corners could stay pinned. The front door could feel like an invitation. That became the idea we refuse to compromise. The promise underneath it all
Simple for consumers.
Open for developers.
Your controller. Your lights. Your home. Your choice. Ember is built so the first evening feels easy, the thousandth still feels dependable, and the curious always have another door they can open.
